How spaced repetition works

How spaced repetition works in Memory Translator: favourited translations become flashcards that move through a series of boxes as you learn words in different languages.

The process starts in the first box, where you meet a new word or phrase from a translation you cared enough to favourite.

When you answer correctly, spaced repetition schedules the card further out. When you miss it, the card comes back sooner so the word does not fade.

Each box is a stage in that schedule — early boxes are frequent reviews; later boxes are longer gaps that prove the vocabulary has stuck.

As you progress, you keep seeing cards that are due today instead of cramming an entire deck. That is the practical difference between a static word list and spaced repetition.

The goal is to reach later boxes for the words you use in real life, then keep light maintenance reviews so they stay available when you speak or write.
